1979–1984 Staff Research Engineer, General Electric Company, Corporate Research and Development Center, Schenectady, New York. He carried out pioneering research in the development of new and efficient processes for the manufacture of silicones and engineering plastics. These processes involved the synthesis and hydrolysis of chlorosilanes, production of fumed silica and silicon carbide, catalysts for interfacial polymerization and hydrogenation, and polymerization of polycarbonate, polyphenylene oxide (PPO) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). Patents were granted, invention disclosures were filed and recognition awards were received for his innovative work.
1971–1979 Researcher, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. He was an active researcher on a number of projects on coal, pyrolysis, desulfurization, decarbonation, fluidization, modeling, filtration, energy, and catalysis as an undergraduate (1971-1975) and graduate student (1975-1979) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He acquired project management and leadership training from the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Chemical Engineering School of Practice.
